NZ guidelines (2005) for management of bedwetting advise the use of a moisture sensing alarm for uncomplicated nocturnal enuresis.

At Bedwetting Solutions we have several types of alarms available.  The two most common alarms are the Remote Sensor Alarm, and the  Bedmat Alarm.

REMOTE SENSOR ALARMS (Enurad and Enutrain) 

Remote sensor alarms are discrete, wire-free and easy to use.

A small (60 x 25 x 7 mm approx) moisture sensitive sensor is worn close to the body inside snug fitting underpants.  When activated by moisture, it sends a signal to the alarm receiver which rings until it is turned off.  The alarm (clock/receiver) can receive a signal up to a distance of 20 metres (depending on the model), so it can be placed away from the bed, requiring the child to get out of bed to turn it off.

These alarms will sound at the first few drops of wetting. Your child has freedom of movement when wearing the alarm because there are no wires attached.

THE DROP STOP: Bedmat alarm

The Drop Stop is a reliable child-friendly, easy to use, bedmat alarm.

It has a patented thin rubber mat threaded with fine non-corroding sensor wire. This is connected to the alarm unit. At minimal wetting of the mat, the alarm will sound. The mat, placed under the bottom sheet, is comfortable and does not come into direct contact with the child.

There is a choice of alarm noises (train whistles and crossing bells), and volume selection from quiet, to louder than anyone would really want!

The alarm is powered by a high quality robust 12 volt rechargeable battery. A sophisticated battery charger ensures long battery life.

The Drop Stop is suitable for general use, but also has the features required by dedicated treatment clinics. It is designed for years of repeated use.
