Our Bedwetting Alarms |
|
NZ guidelines (2005) for management of bedwetting advise the use of a moisture sensing alarm for uncomplicated nocturnal enuresis. At Bedwetting Solutions we have several types of alarms available. Our two most common alarms are the Enurad remote sensor alarm, and the Drop Stop bedmat alarm.
THE DROP STOP: Bedmat alarm
The Drop Stop is a reliable child-friendly, easy to use, bedmat alarm.
It has a
patented thin rubber mat threaded with fine non-corroding sensor wire.
This is
connected to the alarm unit. At minimal wetting of the mat, the alarm
will
sound. The mat, placed under the bottom sheet, is comfortable and does
not come
into direct contact with the child. There is a choice of alarm noises (train whistles and crossing bells), and volume selection from quiet, to louder than anyone would really want!
The
alarm is
powered by a high quality robust 12 volt rechargeable battery. A
sophisticated
battery charger ensures long battery life. The Drop Stop is suitable for general use, but also has the features required by dedicated treatment clinics. It is designed for years of repeated use. The Drop Stop is available for hire at Bedwetting Solutions*. (*Please note that other, equally effective bedmat alarms may be sent for hire if there are no Drop Stop alarms available in the hire pool on receipt of order). THE ENURAD: Remote sensor alarm
The Enurad
alarm is discrete, wire-free and easy to use. A small (60 x 25 x 7 mm) moisture sensitive sensor fits inside a sliced pantyliner and is placed in snug fitting underpants. When activated by moisture, it sends a signal to the alarm clock receiver which rings until it is turned off. The clock can receive a signal to a distance of at least 6-8 metres, so it can be placed away from the bed, requiring the child to get out of bed to turn it off. A 9 volt DC adapter plug and a 'C' sized battery powers the alarm clock. This alarm will sound at the first few drops of wetting. Your child has freedom of movement when wearing the alarm because there are no wires attached. The Enurad is available for hire or purchase in New Zealand.
